Wisdom from 1558

The mind is such a strange and incomprehensible thing.  I woke up this morning with this old hymn going around in my head.  We used to sing it at school.  I couldn't remember all the words, so I "googled" it.  What else! It comes from old English Episcopal liturgy but it's such an all-encompassing prayer.  It covers all the bases.

God be in my head, and in my understanding;
God be in mine eyes, and in my looking;
God be in my mouth, and in my speaking;
God be in my heart, and in my thinking;
God be at mine end, and at my departing.
(Sarum Primer, 1558)
